Aims
This course is aimed at Engineering Maintenance staff who need an overview of Basic Hand Tools, the correct ways to use them, and how to take care of them.
Objectives
By the end of this practical course, operatives will know how to safely use their basic hand tools and how to take care of them.
The Course Covers
- Health and Safety Regulations etc.
- Engineering Maintenance persons Power and Hand Tools
- Cutting/Boring Holes
- Securing/Fixing of Equipment/Pipework with Minimum of Supervision
- Different types of fixings - Screws, Bolts, Tapped holes, Masonry fixings etc and when to use them
- Marking out for drilling inc. Steel, Aluminum, Pilot Holes, Clearance Holes
- Removal, Refitting and alignment of Machine Guards - reasons for fitting
- Interlocks etc
