Fire Extinguisher Maintenance

Introduction

This course will be invaluable for anyone involved in the following areas: Extinguisher Maintenance, Fire Alarm Engineers, Building Maintenance Engineers, Marine/Offshore Engineers

Objectives

This intensive four-day programme covers the requirements of BS5306 parts 3 and 8.

  • Introduction to the causes and means of preventing fires occurring.
  • Fire legislation, regulations and appropriate British Standards.
  • Types, construction and safe operation of fire extinguishers.
  • Hands on use of extinguishers against live fires.
  • Extinguisher Inspection Procedure.
  • Basic service, Extended Service and Overhaul procedures.
  • Provision and Siting of Extinguishers.
  • Practical Servicing Experience.
