Closed Circuit Television Installation

Introduction

This course is designed for electricians who have no experience of CCTV and who are required to install or replace closed circuit television equipment. The course is half theory and half practical.

Course Aims

The course aims to teach participants the basic theory of CCTV together with the practical side of installing and setting up CCTV systems.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants would have had instruction on:

• The operation of television cameras
• Video and synchronizing signals
• Factors affecting image quality
• Choice of installation site.
• Transmission of signals along cables - losses affecting picture quality
• Choice of camera
• Methods of installation
• Connectors
• Compatibility of equipment
• Operation of the video display unit
• Separation of video and sync signals
• Generation of scanning and supply voltages.
• Practical practice on customer's equipment
• Setting up cameras, monitors and ancillary equipment
• Fault symptoms and fault location on the system.

Certification

Participants will be assessed during the course, those reaching a required standard will receive a certificate

Customers equipment must be available - ideally one system for each two participants.
