Health and Safety for Installing Renewable Energy Systems (NICEIC)
Introduction
The Health and Safety course is designed to provide an introduction to the
health and safety aspects of installing renewable energy systems.
Who would benefit?
The course is aimed at electrical personnel who wish to design, install,
inspect & test, commission and maintain renewable energy systems. This course
provides one of the qualifications needed to join the micro-generation
certification (mcs) scheme.
The Course Covers
- Induction. An introduction to the course.
- COSHH. Knowing your substances.
- Manual Handling. Taking the strain out of lifting.
- Working at Heights. Avoiding a fall
Assessment
Assessment is via a combination of practical tasks, assessment sheets and
formal examination.
Duration
One day Certification
Successful candidates are awarded an NICEIC Health & Safety certificate.
Candidates wishing to gain accreditation under the micro-generation
certification scheme will also need an NICEIC (or equivalent) Certificate for
the technology you are installing (e.g.PV) and may also benefit from completing
the NICEIC Quality Management Systems course. These are usually held in the same
week as the Solar Photovoltaic course to make one convenient 5 day package.
