Gas Fired Process Equipment Course C&G 5831/67 - The Advanced Certificate for Utility Operations Unit 971

Introduction

The City & Guild course is the C&G 5831/67 The Advanced Certificate for Utility Operations Unit 971 ‘Gas Fired Process Equipment’.

The course is of 5 days duration and would be carried out on customer’s own premises. It would require a suitable room with overhead projector, white board etc.

As well as attending the course the candidates would be expected to complete various assessments both written and practical. The practical assessments would be carried out on some of the customer’s process equipment, with customer’s agreement.

On successful completion of the course each candidate will receive a City and Guilds Certificate of their achievement in ‘Gas Fired Process Equipment’.

It is estimated that the course would be approximately 75% of the time on general gas installation, utilisation and gas safety, with a ‘slant’ towards the customers gas fired process equipment, with 25% being specifically targeted at the customers own gas fired process equipment.

The practical assessment will involve tightness testing of pipework and burner setup on some gas fired plant. This will involve combustion efficiency and safety checks.
