Failure Modes Event Analysis, Event Tree and Fault Tree
Appreciation
Aim
To give delegates a working overview of the analysis tools to enable them to
carry out basic quantitative Risk Assessments for particular applications.
Objectives
By the end of the course delegates should be able to recognize analysis techniques,
their content and appreciate their impact on quantitative Risk Assessment
The Course Covers
Hazards and identification, revision of Risk Indices
Hazards as a result of failures, machine components, etc.
HAZOP (identification of possible failures for an operation)
FMEA - Failure Modes Event Analysis -(component failure and effects) - Analyze
effects and consequences
ETA - Event Tree Analysis - (initiating event up)
Assess overall Risk
Reliability Technology
FTA - Fault Tree Analysis - (top event down e.g. explosion) - targets and
criteria
Tolerability of Risk
Case studies and analysis - individually and in syndicate groups
