Mobile Elevating Work Platform - MEWP Course

Introduction

This course is designed for potential and existing operators who have received no formal instruction and those requiring refresher training on MEWP.

Objectives

To give foundation training for MEWP operators in accordance with current legislation.

Course Content

On completion of the course the trainees will be able to:

• Identify the main components and state the designed purpose, limitation of use and principles of operation of the MEWP.
• Identify all of the travel controls, travel safety devices and travel warning signs and demonstrate the ability to travel the MEWP.
• Demonstrate the procedure for setting up the MEWP in preparation for work
• Identify all of the work platform controls, work platform safety devices and warning signs and demonstrate the ability to locate the work platform to the working position.
• Demonstrate the work platform emergency lowering procedures
• Demonstrate the operator routine daily inspection and servicing tasks
