Slinger/Banksman/Signaller Course
Aims
To teach the slinger to safely sling and signal to cranes of various types.
Objectives
On completion of the course the slinger will know:
- The statutory duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and
other relevant legislation
- Correct slinging procedures and signalling techniques
- The importance of weight, centre of gravity and sling and angles in
relation to the safe working load of the lifting tackle.
- Potential hazards associated with lifting operations and how to overcome
them
Ratios
One crane. Maximum of four delegates.
Course Duration
One day for experience staff
Two days for novices Entry Qualifications
Candidates must be over 18 years of age and must be medically fit.
