To train operators to safely prepare, operate and maintain telescopic
handlers.
Course Content
At the end of the course, operators should be able to:
Operate their machine safely and efficiently on all normal tasks for which
the machine was designed for
Decide whether a particular load is safe to lift
Carry out routine servicing procedures and maintenance in accordance with
the manufacturers instructions
Set up the machine correctly using stabilizers
Where applicable, prepare and drive the machine on public highways or load
it on to a transporter in accordance with the requirements of the Road
Traffic Acts
Delegates will learn:
The purpose and capabilities of their machine and any relevant safety
precautions necessary for its operation
How the machine works and its maintenance requirements
The effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions have
upon machine stability.
Loading, storage and transit of representative materials.
Basic construction of pallets
Permitted loading of scaffolds
