The Trouble With Training - Video
For many staff, the thought of attending a training
course can be daunting.
This video encourages a positive approach to learning. It
tackles delegates’ fears, anxieties and prejudices when attending a training
course – a perfect ice-breaker for the start of any training session.
Bob Smedley (Mel Smith) is convinced training is a waste of
time. He unburdens his feelings to another delegate (Griff Rhys Jones). As he
moans away, Bob raises every objection to training he can think of and clearly
demonstrates his discomfort with the whole business. Behind his apparent
self-confidence, he reveals a deep-seated fear of being judged both by his peers
and the trainer.
Gradually, Bob realises that in this particular training
session everything is not as it seems, and that he should always keep an open
mind.
