Introduction to ISO 9000 - Video

ISO 9000 is sometimes seen as an unnecessary additional burden.

This video explains the background, logic and purpose of the ISO9000 quality standard, and challenges some common objections and misconceptions.

Mel is complaining bitterly that some bright noodle in the company has decided to go for ISO 9000, although he confesses to Griff that he doesn’t know what it’s all about.

Mel believes that the whole scheme is probably a management plot and doesn’t see how an organisation can be standardised in the same way as products, such as nuts and bolts. Griff explains that the process is necessary, as it assures customers that the company operates to internationally recognised quality standards.
