Business as Usual - Leadership skills - Video
Introduction
Derek Fowlds plays ‘Roy Barnes’, a manager in the secret service. Routine is
Roy’s watchword, he believes in running a tight ship. His team are
stifled, de-motivated and stuck in a rut. He finds out that the ‘other
side’ see him as no threat. He is encouraged to communicate constructively
and to liberate the potential of his team – and himself – by creating a working
environment where innovation can emerge.
Through a series of enlightening exchanges, Roy discovers the truth about
himself and every single member of his team, all of whom have different needs
and different strengths.
Faced with this truth, he learns how to breathe new life into his people, and
in the process gets one step ahead of the competition.
The end of the film emphasises the key training points and draws attention to
the need to take risks in management.
